Wed April 22: Business After-Hours: Otavala Consulting networking evening & wine
tasting 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at WineStyles, 1240 S. Michigan Ave.
First Friday of Every Month Baarikärpäset Bar Night (First Fridays with Finnish "Bar
Flies") Chicagoland Finnish-American organizations jointly invite all area Finns (and Finns
at heart!) to fun & casual bar nights every First Friday of the month. Baarikärpäset will
flock to Kitty O'Sheas, 720 S. Michigan Ave (Hotel Hilton & Towers) after work (~5:30p.
m. =>) with absolutely no agenda, program, or responsibilities!
Tue April 28: Helsinki 1952 – Chicago 2016? FACC Cocktails in honor of Jussi
Pajunen, Mayor of Helsinki, at the Nokia Store, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 543 N. Michigan
Avenue in Chicago. Limited capacity venue. Fee: $22 members/$32 non-members.

fellow Chamber members. Your attendance will also promote the FACC-Midwest! Meet
small business owners and other Chamber groups. 8:00 am to 3:30 pm at the UIC
Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd.

Sat August 8: Steak Fry and Crayfish Sampling at Vasa Park, South Elgin, IL. See

Sun August 16: FASM Annual Meeting and Family Picnic. Food, fun, families! At

Teams from local Finnish organizations compete in traditional Finnish sports like "cell
phone throwing" and "rubber boot throwing."

Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. The viewing starts at 11 a.m. in the reserved party
room of Lottie's Pub in Bucktown, 1925 West Cortland St, Chicago, IL 60622.
November
Wed November 4: Sweden Shop private shopping evening with wine and hors d’
oeuvres from Tre Kronor. Special discounts on Finnish brands such as Marimekko,
Iittala, Arabia… (3304 W. Foster, Andersonville, Chicago). Followed by a visit to
neighboring North Park University to meet with Finnish students and enjoy some live

Kabanova (dramatic opera by Janacek, sung in Czech, English supertitles). On 11/22,
